I am an integrative, relational counsellor. This means that I have trained to work with various theoretical approaches, such as person-centred/humanistic psychotherapy, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). I have also trained to use skills in mindfulness, dramatherapy and coaching. I place great importance on building an honest and open relationship with my clients, couples and supervisees, to give whoever I am working with the opportunity to feel heard, respected and understood.
I have worked for over 20 years in education, hospital settings and the charity sector, working with young people and adults as a student support advisor, counsellor, coach and supervisor. I have extensive experience working with trauma, abuse, addiction and relationship issues.
I am an accredited, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP ethical framework of good practice. I hold a Diploma in Integrative and Transpersonal Supervision and a Diploma in Coaching skills.
I have trained and continue to enhance my skills in suicide prevention techniques, dramatherapy, mindfulness, relationship coaching and couples facilitation
