We are aware of the importance and benefits of being in nature for exercise and wellbeing.
Nature is not only here for us humans, but we can share and nurture this gift of the natural world that is given to us freely, to help us to nurture and balance our own inner world.
Whilst the trees are busy producing chemicals (phytoncides) that help reduce our cortisol levels we, in turn, can sense a lowering of our stress levels.
Whilst the plants and soil are busy producing smells, colours, shapes and textures that balance our human senses, parts of our brains light up in the same way as when we listen to music.
Whilst the birds, the bees and all the living creatures of nature are busy producing sights and sounds that help to increase chemicals (serotonin) in our bodies we end up feeling less sad.
That’s a very simple explanation of the benefits of being in nature. It’s way more complex than that but the results speak for themselves.
